about will

I had my first brush with TYA in January 0f 2001 in a production of Robin Hood that played for several thousand local school-aged children over a span of two weeks. It changed my life. In the years since, I've become convinced that quality arts programs for children have the power to change our society and our world for the better. I believe the theatre is a place where young ones can find their voices, confront their fears, discover the value of empathy, and grow in intellect and imagintion. I also believe quality TYA is necessary for the survival of theatre as an art form, as quality programming for young audiences and actors cultivates a generation that values challenging and engaging performance art.

In the years that have followed that fateful undergrad adventure in Sherwood Forest, I have written many originals, adaptations, and church plays, and even had a few of them published, too. Each one holds a special place in my heart, and I have created this site as a means of sharing them with you. With each project, I aim first to provide the audience with a story that will entertain, inspire, and challenge them at any age. I want the kids to have such an amazing time they are acting out their own sequels on the playground at recess and they can't wait to get back to the theatre. I also aim to provide a vehicle for directors, actors, and designers to stretch themselves and allow their own creativity to provide their audiences with a unique theatrical experience. At the end of the day, I believe that it what great TYA does: it leaves both artist and audience saying, "I've just got to be a part of that!!!"

Please look around. I hope you find something that interests and excites you!
